Wanda Stella Kohan was 91 years of age when she passed away peacefully on Labor Day, September 7, 2015 in her residence in Monongahela. Born in Charleroi on the Fourth of July in 1924, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Josephine Domack Sokol. Wanda retired from Corning Glass Charleroi Plant after 35 years. She was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and a former member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. Wanda was devoted to her family and embraced living in the United States. Besides her parents, she was proceeded in death by her late husband Rudolph B. Kohan, a daughter Sally Ann Kohan, a sister Irene Kerestes, and a brother Carl Sokol. She was loved dearly by her daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Pete Belavich of Monongahela, and a son and daughter-in-law, Rudolph D. and Frances Kohan of Georgia. Gram will always be remembered by her five grandchildren and their spouses: Robert F. (Donna) McFaddin Jr. of Virgina, Jill (Bill) Spencer of Upper St. Clair, Jason (Kristen) Kohan of Georgia, Melisa (Thomas) Gardner of Georgia, and Katie (Jason) Frost of Georgia. Bubba's love and affection lives on in the hearts of her ten great-grandchildren: Jenna M. McFaddin, Robert J. McFaddin, Lillian Spencer, Sarah Spencer, Hunter Kohan, Alexis Comacho, Abigail Gardner, Ellis Gardner, Liam Frost and Stella Frost. She has a special place in the hearts of her nephew Joseph Kerestes and friend Frank Smith, in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Wanda enjoyed creating home crafts, crocheting and knitting afghans, painting ceramics - particularly Christmas ornaments and villages, and completing bead work. She loved reading and playing cards, video games and board games. Family and friends will be received on Friday from 2 pm until 4 pm and 6 pm until 8 pm in the Robert A. A Blessing will be held on Saturday at 9:00 am in the funeral home followed by a 9:30 am Funeral Mass in the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church with FR. Michael Crookston officiating. Wanda's interment will follow in St. Hyacinth's Cemetery.
