Thomas "George" Luketich

Thomas “George” Luketich, 89 of Monessen died on October, 1 ^st in his home with his loving family by his side. Born on May 3 ^rd , 1925 in Ellsworth, He was the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Luketich. George served his country in the United States Navy in World War II and after more than 30 years he retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. A lifelong member of the Croatian Fraternal Union where he held many roles in the organization. As an officer in the Monessen lodge 194 he served as president and other official positions as well as a delegate to a number of CFU national conventions, His lifelong passion was the Croatian Club. He spearheaded the relocation of the Croatian home from its former location downtown to a new building on Summit Ave. For over 30 years he has held a number of offices in the Croatian Club and was still serving at the time of his passing. George was also a member of the Slovene Benefit Society (SNPJ) and American Legion Post #28. He also worked as an assistant at the Robert A Billick Funeral Home and was their longest serving employee for over 50 years. He was also member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife Barbara Ann Luketich, his sister Cecelia of Ellsworth, his two sons, Tom and Tim Luketich, six grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Friends will be received on Friday October 3 ^rd from 1 until 3 pm and 6 until 8 pm in the Robert A. Billick Funeral Home Inc. Grand Blvd. and Marion Ave. Monessen Pa 15062 www.billicksfuneralhome.com 724-684-3700 A Blessing Service will be held on Saturday at 9:30 am in the funeral home, with a funeral mass following at 10 am in Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery. American Legion Post #28 will hold services at 6 pm of Friday.
