Richard M Dudas 90, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday January 8 in UPMC Horizon Hospital in Farrell. Born in Monessen in the Dudas Maternity Hospital on October 15 1932 he was the son of the late Dr and Mrs. Joseph Dudas. He was a graduate of Monessen High School class of 1950 and the Kerpel Institute of Technology in Washington DC. Richard served in the US Army in Germany during the German Occupation. For 35 years Richard a certified Dental Technologist managed the dental laboratory for the Dr’s Dudas Dental Associates in Monessen and later opening Cosmetique Dental Arts. He was a past Exalted Ruler of the Monessen Elks Lodge 773, past Grand Knight and 4th degree member of the Monessen Knights of Columbus Council 954, the Monessen Lions Club and past District Governor of District 14 consisting of all Lion’s Lioness and Leo Clubs in Westmoreland County. Richard was also a Boy Scout Leader and Trainer. While attending the former Holy Name church in Monessen he served on the parish Council for many years and on the Monessen Catholic School Board. He also was a member of the American Legion Post 28 and the VFW Post 1190. Richard was a member of the Dental Association of Dental Technologists. After moving to Hermitage, he joined the Hermitage Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus where he served as Grand Knight. He was a member of the Notre Dame Catholic Church of Hermitage, Besides his parents he was proceeded in death by his son Richard Dudas, three brothers Dr. Joseph Dudas, Dr Thomas Dudas, and Andre Dudas. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Donna Stofka Dudas, a daughter and son in law Amy and Paul Hilliard of Hermitage, five grandsons, Ian and Joshua McClintock, Braden and Parker Hilliard and Ricky Dudas III, one granddaughter Rachel and husband Nicholas Tanczos. Two Brothers Dr. Martin and wife Madeline Dudas, and John Dudas both of Monessen and a sister in law Virginia Dudas of Greensburg, numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Friday January 13th from 5 until 8 pm in the Robert A. Billick Funeral Home Inc. Grand Blvd and Marion Ave Monessen, a Blessing service will be held on Saturday January 14 at 11:30 am in the funeral home followed by a 12 noon Funeral Mass in the Epiphany of our Lord RC church Entombment will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The Knights of Columbus 954 and the Catholic Daughters of America will hold combined services on Friday at 7 pm
