Panayiota (Penny) Kordistos of Monessen, was born Panayiota Klosteridis on December 29 1936 in the village of Lithi, on the Island of Chios, Greece, was one of three children.
The daughter of the late Very Rev Father Spyridon and Presbytera Angeliki Klosteridis , She lived with her family until 1958 when she married the late Gus P. Kordistos. Shortly after they were married, they moved to Monessen where they lived a full life together. Penny and Gus raised three children, Rosalie, Peter, and Angela. They enjoyed a loving marriage of 49 years.
A devoted mother, wife and grandmother, she worked tirelessly, enjoying many joyful years, celebrating holidays, weddings, and baptisms with her close knit family. She was a talented seamstress and cook. Anyone who entered her home was greeted with the warmest greetings and hospitality.
While we grieve her loss, we will remember this Angel on earth for her loving kindness, her gentle and living spirit, the joy she took from her life and the love she shared with family and friends. Penny succeeded in living a graceful Christian life.
She is deeply loved and will be sadly missed by her children Rosalie (Gary) Miller of Washington PA; Peter G.
