Nick Sivek 81 of Monessen on Tuesday October 9 2012 in St. Margaret's Hospital Pittsburgh Pa. Born in Monessen on December 15 1930 he was the son of the late Carl and Mary Mahey Sivek. He retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Co. Monessen Plant. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Charleroi. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict receiving the Purple Heart and 5 Bronze Stars. Nick was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1190. Besides his parents he was proceeded in death by his wife Shirley E. Sivek, four brothers William, Carl , John and Lou Sivek and two sisters Eva Kabay and Mary Feehan. He is survived by a son and daughter in law Jeffery and Carla Sivek of Pittsburgh and a daughter Janice Sivek of Erie. Three grandchildren Jeremy and his wife Amanda Sivek , Amanda and her husband Tyler Mills and Michael Thompson. One Brother, Frank Sivek, of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received on Friday from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 pm. In the Robert A. Billick Funeral Home and cremation service Grand Blvd. and Marion Ave Monessen (724) 684-3700 www.billicksfuneralhome.com Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 am in the funeral home with Pastor Ross Pryor officiating interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park Donora Pa. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1190 will conduct services Friday at 7 pm. in the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the V.F.W. post 1190 in Nick's memory.
