Micheal T Twardy

Michael T Twardy passed away on July 6, 2020 at the Hallsworth House in Monessen after a battling dementia and complications brought on by hip surgery. Mike or Mickey known to most of his family was born in North Charleroi on May 28, 1937. He was proceeded in death by his Father - Michael Twardy, Mother - Mary Beresh Twardy, his beloved Sister – Patricia Galaski and first cousin - Andrea Kossar Colbaugh. He was a 1955 graduate of Monessen High School and went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from California State Teacher’s College and a Master’s Degree from Duquesne University in Education. Mike was a teacher. He taught Biology and Science for 25 years within the Pittsburgh Public School System working at Prospect Junior High and finishing at Brashear High School. Mike lived and spent most of his adult years at his home in Scott Township, PA. Mike was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, especially the Pitt Panthers, where he had season tickets for more than 50 years. Mike was the friendly agitator, whether it was with his family or his students, Mike always enjoyed giving people a hard time, but always took it as well as he could give it out. Mike was a loving son, a brother, an uncle, a cousin, a godfather and a friend that could always be counted on. He will be fondly remembered and truly missed. He is survived by his Brother-in-Law Edwin Galaski Monessen/High Point, NC, Nephew Edward Galaski, wife Brenda and Great Nephew Joshua of High Point, NC, and many cousins and godchildren. Memorial service will be held at St Mary’s on Saturday September 5th at 10 am With the internment following in St Mary's cemetery. Robert A Billick Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements
