Michael L. "Turk" Matush 92 of Monessen on Wednesday October 4 2017 in his home. Born in Monessen on September 25 1925 he was the son of the late John and Mary Jarnecic Matush. Turk retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Co. Allenport Plant. He was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge 194, the Croatian Club, a Life Member of Roscoe Sportsman, and the Mon Valley Shipmates. Turk served his country in the US Navy during WW II. Besides his parents he was proceeded in death by a son Michael Matush Jr. three brothers John, Frank and Steve Matush. Four sisters Mary Trembolak, Ann Dzatko, Elizabeth Slobodnik and Eleanor Mahalko. He is survived by his wife Delores Tabak Matush, one daughter Debra Safier of Virginia Beach three sons and daughters in law Mark and Patricia Matush of Fayette City, Donald and Elizabeth Matush of Perryopolis and William and Amy Matush of Monessen. Eight grand children Brianna Matush, Nathan Safier, Lara Jones, Jacob, Krista, Lacey, Coby and Bailey Matush, one great grandson Mason Joel Matush. Friends will be received on Friday from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 pm in the Robert A. Billick Funeral Home Inc. Michael Crookston Officiating internment will follow in St. Hyacinth's Cemetery . The Mon Valley Shipmates will conduct 2 Bell Services on Friday at 3 pm in the funeral home.
