Michael Hreno Sr., 87, of Royal Palm Beach FL. , formerly of Monessen died on Wednesday, October 16 2013. Born in Monessen on September 16, 1926, he was the son of the late John and Mary Hudi Hreno. He worked for Corning Glass and later for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. He was so loved and respected by his siblings. At the tender young age of 17, due to the loss of his parents, he kept the family together with the help of brother John and sister, Ann. He provided a Christian loving home with high moral values. He had a brilliant mind and was recognizes for his inventions which Corning Glass used. He loved life and enjoyed polkas and fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Pavlik Hreno, a son Michael Hreno Jr., a brother John Hreno and a sister, Ann Hreno Haschets. He is survived by two sons, George and his wife Laura Hreno with whom he lived the past three years, of Royal Palm Beach, Florida and Robert and his wife Candy Hreno of Donora, Five grandchildren, Josh Hreno of Donora, Micheal, Leslie and Erin Grimes of Charleroi and Lisa Pearce of Fayette City. In addition, he is survived by five great grandchildren and Three sisters, Mary Pavlik and Helen and her husband Vall Veschio of Monessen and Susan and her husband Richard Urko of Monongahela and a brother in law John Haschets. Many nephews and nieces survive that he was very close to. He was a member of St. John The Divine Russian Orthodox Church of Monessen. Friends will be received on Sunday Oct. 20 from 2:00 untill 4:00 and 6:00 untill 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:15 untill 9:45 a.m in the Robert A Billick Funeral Home Inc. Grand Blvd & Marion Ave. Monessen www.billicksfuneralhome.com where Parastas services will be held on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday in St. John the Divine Russian Orthodox Church with very Reverend Dragan Filipovic officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
