Melvin R Povich 66 of Finleyville formerly of Monessen on Wednesday June 12 in Jefferson Medical Center. Born in Monessen on July 30 1946 he was the son of the late George and Anna Sutovich Povich. He was Russian Orthodox by faith. Melvin retired from Corning Glass and World Kitchen working as a forming specialist. He served his country in the US Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 28 and a former member of the Monessen Volunteer Fire Department #2. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers Marko, George Jr. Thomas, Nick and Stanley Povich and three sisters Mildred Povich, Pearl Wieghtman, and Helen Bialon. He is survived by his wife Karen Kostolansky Povich, two brothers Charles Povich of Monessen and Peter Povich of N. Charleroi, two sisters Delores Ostetrico and Joyce McGowan both of Monessen . His mother in law lloyda Kostolansky of Pleasant Hills Numerous sisters in law, brothers in law and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Friday from 1 until 6 pm in the Robert A. Billick Funeral Home Inc. Grand Blvd and Marion Ave. Monessen www.billicksfuneralhome.com (724) 684-3700 Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 am in the funeral home with Fr. Dragan Filipovic officiating interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery Carroll Twp.
