Mary Liscik

Surrounded by her beloved family, Mary (Varga) Liscik, 93, of Monessen, Passed away peacefully on Thursday July 25, 2013 at Humbert Lane Nursing Center in Washington, PA. Born in North Charleroi on October 30, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Michael G. and Mary Svagrosky Varga. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George A. Liscik; her sister, Anna (Varga) Gogol; and her six brothers-Michael, Stephen, John, Emil, Emil (infant), and Joe Varga. She is survived by her four daughters: Mary Jane Rose and Husband James of Belle Vernon; Laverne Taylor and Husband Mark of Gainesville, GA; Evelyn Pivarnik and husband Ed of Pittsburgh; Laurie Suchko and husband Paul of Venetia. Mary has eight grandchildren: James Rose (Eric Gutierrez); Jeff Rose; Ryan Taylor; Kristen Bitner (Brian); Kelly Pivarnik; and Paul, Sarah and Stephen Suchko. She has one Great Grandchild: Isaac Rose-Gutierrez. Mary is also survived by: one sister, Irene Kretchun of Monongahela: one brother Frank Varga and wife Marge of New Jersey; two sister-in-laws: Mary Ann Varga of Monessen and Laverne Varga of Monongahela; and many nieces and nephews. Mary's happiest times were those spent with her family. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched. . A Blessing service will be held on Monday at 9:30 am in the Funeral Home followed by a 10 am Funeral Mass in the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Holy Name Cemetery.
