Joanne E Matush

Joanne E Matush 84 of Monessen on Wednesday June 17 in Mon Valley Hospital Inc. Born in Monessen on March 12 1931 she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Lescanac Matush. She was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. Joanne was a registered dietician and served as Director of Dietetics for various hospitals in Pennsylvania, Florida, Illinois and Ohio. After she retired Joanne moved back to Monessen and volunteered with the Epiphany Ladies. She contributed her food science experience and worked many Lenten fish fries and funeral luncheons. Joanne was a loyal, caring, and loving daughter, friend and cousin, who always thought of others first. She is survived by her cousins Phil Mikan, Laurel Beres Dabria, Lawrence Elyanich, Candis Kelly Mike and Delores Matush, Debra Safier, Mark Matush, Donald Matush and Bill Matush. The family would like to thank the staff of Hallsworth House, and Via Quest Hospice for their loving and compassionate care. Friends will be received on Friday from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 pm in the Robert A. Billick Funeral Home Inc. Grand Blvd and Marion Ave. Monessen www.billicksfuneralhome.com. A Blessing service will be held on Saturday at 11:30 am in the funeral home followed by a 12 pm Funeral Mass in the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Crookston Officiating interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
