Helen V. Ostapowicz 95 of Monessen on Saturday April 19 2014 in St. Anne’s Care Home. Born in Monessen on December 21 1918 she was the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine Sokol. During World War II she was employed by US Steel Co. as a tractor operator Clairton Plant, Magura Sewing Factory of Monessen and Brookville Manufacturing of Belle Vernon. She was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, the Apline Card Club, an avid Wednesday night bowler at Star Lanes. Besides her parents she was proceeded in death by her husband Edward A Ostapowicz, three sisters Mary and Frances Sokol and Louise Boyle, four brothers Theodore, Joseph, John and Stanley Sokol. She is survived by a daughter and son in law Karen and Timothy Susick of Belle Vernon and a son and daughter in law Edwadr and Patty Ostapowicz of Wilmington NC. Two grandchildren Lauren and Ethan Ostapowicz. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 pm in the Robert A Billick Funeral Home Inc. Grand Blvd and Marion Ave Monessen www.billicksfuneralhome.com A Blessing service will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by a 10 am funeral mass in the Epiphany of our Lord Roman Catholic Church interment will follow in St. Hyacinths Cemetery Monessen
