Edward Gladys 93 of Monessen passed peacefully on March 4, 2021 in Allegheny Health Network West Penn Hospital Pittsburgh. Born in Monessen on October 18, 1927 he was the son of the late Michael and Mary Owsiany Gladys. He was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Church, the Polish National Alliance and the VFW. He retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel CO. Monessen Plant. Ed was also affectionately called “Uncle Fud” and felt blessed with his nieces and nephews whom he liked helping out in any way he could whether moving them to and from university or rescuing them if the car had broken down. He was also very proud of his Polish heritage and remained a member of the Polish Heritage Club for many years and loved attending all the events along with listening to Polka music. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers Walter, Joseph and John Gladys. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass will be held on Friday, May 27 at 10 am the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery
