Cletus R Doptis

Cletus R Doptis 83 of Monessen on Saturday April 30 2016 in his home.. He was the son of the late Alexander A and Mary Hega Doptis. He was the beloved husband of 59 years to Mary Louise (Gnip) Doptis. Loving father of Richard Doptis of Fort Lauderdale FL, Collette (Doptis) Veschio, and Wayne and Paula Doptis both of Monessen. Cherished grandfather of Jason Doptis, Brandon Veschio, Luke Doptis, Leigh Ann Leach, Dominic Caputo, Chelsey Caputo and Adam Caputo. A 1951 graduate of Charleroi High School and a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired as Grocery Manager of 32 years for Thorofare Market as well as the Mon Valley sewage Authority. He also ran his own lawn mower sales and service business. Cletus was also an avid hunter motorcycle rider, radio controlled airplane enthusiast, he enjoyed trips to the casino, music and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, Monessen Croatian Club and the Mon Valley Radio Control Club. Besides his parents he was proceeded in death by two children Phillip and Evelyn Doptis and two sisters Patricia Doptis Hazelbaker and Evelyn Doptis. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 1 until 3 and 6 until 8 pm in the Robert A. Billick Funeral Home Inc. Grand Blvd and Marion Ave Monessen. www.billicksfuneralhome.com. A Blessing service will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 am in the funeral home followed by a 11 am Funeral Mass in the Epiphany of Our Lord Church interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
