Charles Allen McGovern, born on July 30, 1989, left his physical body on Monday. He was a beautiful young man, with an infectious smile and a huge heart, who had years of promise and happiness ahead of him.
As a child, Charlie was wide-eyed and wild, in the way that all little boys ought to be. He loved dinosaurs, snakes, roller coasters, Fraggle Rock and his Great Danes. He could swim before he could walk. And he was the pride and joy of his parents, Toni and Chuck.
Charlie developed a love of sports, and became an exceptional athlete. He excelled at football, baseball, basketball, swimming and hiking, but it was boxing that was his true calling. He trained with the best, and honed his body and mind to perfection. Charlie’s studies were equally important, and led him to a Business Degree in Marketing at Penn State. It was there that he met the love of his life, Ama Adusei. He convinced her to follow him to Florida, where Charlie set on a course to obtain a Bachelors in Nursing. They were married, and shared a happy life with their adopted pets Lilly, Archie and Cutie.
Charlie was a unique individual, a wonderful son, and a loving husband. He was the brightest light in the room, the first to smile, and the quickest to laugh. His heart was truly golden, and he wanted nothing more than to spend time with his loved ones. To honor Charlie is to stay close to those you love and uphold the traditions of togetherness.
Charlie was preceded in death by
his maternal grandparents Isabel and Joseph Allen, paternal grandfather Charles McGovern, Aunt Mary Ellen George, Cousin James George and many other aunts, uncles, and loved ones.
He is survived by his Parents, his Wife, the McGoverns, the Allens, the Aduseis and all of his loving family.
