Candis Kelley

Candis Elyanich Kelley of Monessen passed away on January 9, 2025 at the age of 76. Candis graduated from Monessen High school in 1966, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of Pittsburgh in 1978. She was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. Candis worked in several industries before becoming a flight attendant with United Airlines in1993, and served with United until she retired in 2012 Candis played golf and tennis, loved to waterski, and was a competitive ballroom dancer.Candis was committed to serving the Monessen community. She was an active member of the Monessen Lions Club, and for many years served as the Leo Club Advisor, working with Monessen High School students to participate in fund raisers and other service activities on behalf of the Lions Club. Candis also served on the Board of Directors of the Monessen Lions Club. An avid reader and writer, she served on the Board of Directors for the Monessen Public Library. Candis was also an enthusiastic Board member and Emeritus Board member at the Greater Monessen Historical Society for many years Candis was preceded in death by her mother Geraldine “Gerry” (Giannini) Elyanich and her father Lawrence “Mooney” Elyanich. Friends will be received on Wednesday January 15th form 10 am until time of service at 12 noon in the Robert A Billick Funeral Home Inc. Grand Blvd and Marion Ave Monessen with Fr.
