Ann Kozik, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 3, 2015.
Ann was born on April 23, 1923, the youngest daughter of Joseph and Helen (Helon) Kudlik. She was a lifelong resident of Monessen, and graduated from Monessen High School in 1941.
Ann was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Monessen, and was a member and past officer of its Sisterhood Chapter. In recent years, she enjoyed attending the Christian Center in Belle Vernon.
Ann worked for many years at Eisenberg’s Department Store in Monessen and retired from Wetterau in Belle Vernon. She enjoyed shopping and playing cards and was a member of various card clubs in the Mon Valley. She also enjoyed baking pies, cooking for her family, and canning her husband’s homegrown tomatoes and vegetables. Most of all, she loved the Lord and delighted in listening to worship music.
Ann was greatly loved by her family and many friends and had a loving, caring and gentle spirit. She will be missed so much, but we all rejoice with her that she is now with the Lord.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, sisters Mary Guibourdanche, Catherine Kerekes, and Rose Saksun, and brother John Kudlik. She is survived by her three children, son Jon and Marie Kozik, daughter Jan Kozik, and daughter Joycelyn and Jeff Vivio, all of Monessen, and two grandchildren, Jonathan and Nikisha Kozik, of Manassas, Virginia, and Alex Maatta, of Monessen.
Friends will be received at the Robert A. Billick Funeral Home, Grand Boulevard, Monessen, from on Thursday, November 5, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Friday, November 6 at 11 a.m. at The Christian Center, 130 Charity Lane, Belle Vernon, with a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Center. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
